We take the question of readiness for primary schooling very seriously, and prepare the children for formal accademic study usually at K2 (the age of six). We offer optional bridging programmes, such as Maths, English with phonics, spelling, writing and grammar, and Chinese with Hanyu Pinyin and writing, to help K2 children build their numeric and literacy skills, ensuring that they can cross smoothly into primary school life with confidence. We also runs orientation classes to prepare the children for primary school routiness, and expose them in classroom setting where they can do schoolwork with supervision togerther with primary shcool children in our student care.

  • Outdoor play and Gardening:
Children play in the grden, exercise their limbs, revel in water, engage in sand and mud play, imitate the teachers in gardening work, play chase, etc.
  • Morning Tea:
A nourishing homemade breakfast:organic brown rice milk, freshly made bread and fruit.
  • Circle time:
Our circles are comprised of songs and verses with motor gestures in fun ways, nursery rhymes, dances and finger plays, as well as circle games. A circle is generally designed with athe rhythm of quarterly season. In each quarter season, an unique humanity theme is celebrated, usually in song and verses, through out the season. These richly varied activities help children develop a rich vocabulary and language skills, preparing children with a strong pre-literacy base for school.
  • Imaginative Play:
Children play with knitted homemade dolls and animals, baskets, naturally dyed rainbow clothes, wooden blocks, and many different natural objects according to the impulses of their heart, imitating and transforming creatively the activities that belong to everyday adult life. For K2 children, they engage in a group in modeling, water colour painting, art and craft, or teacher assigned projects that help develop their abilities to work as team.
  • Snack Time:
Teachers work with the children to prepare mixed fruits decorated with healthy nuts, or vegetable salad with home-made dressing. Once a week they may also bake some breads or cookies. Through measuring water and flour, mixing them together, experimenting and playing with the dough, the children become aware of the concepts of size, shape, numbers, and patterns, all basics to maths.

The teacher lights a candle to give a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, and tells flowingly a classic fairy or folk tale in an artistic play format that captivates the children and engages their imaginations. Theachers may choose stories for traditional festivals of different cultures and relighions, such as Chinese New Year, Vesak Day, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa and Christmas, to hlep children develop on appreciation for the richly different local cultures and traditions.
